ABR Story

Juliana Smeltz’s Run for ABR

The response on Slippery Rock University’s campus to this endeavor and their support of Amputee Blade Runners was more than I had hoped. Many students and faculty have taken a keen interest in your organization and have asked for information in order to donate to ABR in the future.  There is also much interest in knowing the impact that the doantions will make in the blade running community.  If possible, I would very much appreciate it if you could correspond with me to let me know how the donations are used so that I can inform all the supporters on campus.  The preference is that the money is used to assist with the purchase of a pair of running blades for an individual, however, you are welcome to use the money in any way that you see fit in order to make a positive impact.

Thank you again for allowing me the opportunity to run my first marathon for a cause greater than myself.  I am looking forward to continue running in the future. I have not yet received my official pictures from the marathon, so I included a few that my dad took of my friend, Meghan, and myself during the race just in case you were interested. I would definitely recommend the Rome Marathon to all runners!

Thank you again!
