Run Your City

Run Your City (RYC) is a National Run Campaign held during the month of May to benefit the Amputee Blade Runners (ABR).  The campaign is designed to bring people together for fitness and fun.  The RYC Campaign is based around individuals hosting social runs in their cities and inviting others to join in the campaign to raise money & awareness.  Unlike a competitive road race on a fixed course, a social run is an informal gathering designed to bring individuals, families, sports teams, or businesses together for “fun runs” and to raise awareness for a good cause.  ABR is an organization based upon helping amputees regain an active lifestyle, so this campaign was created to get individuals involved in the same activity that many of our team members practice….running!

Entering it’s 3rd year in 2017, the RYC campaign has grown to new levels, but only through the help of each person that has supported it over the past 2 years.  This year our goals are bigger, as we seek to have 100 Social Runs throughout the country, during the month of May! With that said, we Need Your Help once again, to make this campaign a success.

WHAT is the Run Your City (RYC) Campaign?

WHEN do I run?

The RYC Campaign will take place during the WHOLE month of MAY, 2017, so there will be plenty of options to either choose a social run in your area, or host one yourself.

WHERE do I run?

That’s the beauty of this campaign. You can run where you live. Find someone either hosting a run during the month of May or grab some friends & start a run of your own!

WHY is the campaign important?

Amputee Blade Runners provides FREE running & sports legs, through grants, to amputees that are seeking amore active lifestyle, as insurance will only cover a walking leg.  This campaign helps to support our grants to those amputees that are looking to regain their active lifestyle!

How much does it cost to join the RYC Campaign?

It doesn’t cost anything, but we do encourage a $5 online donation so we can reach our goal of raising $35,000 to support more amputees Running Free!

Are these runs sanctioned?

No, these runs will not be sanctioned or supported, but rather just a good social run to raise money & awareness for amputee athletes!

Don’t overthink think this campaign:)

What will be the distance for each run?

The distance for each run will be determined by the individual or group hosting the social run in your area.

Most people choose a distance from 1-5 miles, depending upon the type of individuals you’d like to have involved.
