Elliott James, 32, lost his leg below the knee while serving in the Army in 2005. After his injury, he struggled emotionally and physically, and was unable to connect with his family and community. Eventually, he got a “running blade,” a prosthesis that enabled him to run again, and this played a critical part in his recovery, allowing him to “feel human again.”
