Hailing from the Lone Star State, Greg Young has been the definition of an amputee athlete since having an amputation due to a traumatic accident in 2013. Just a few weeks after his amputation, Greg returned to lifting weights 4-5 days a week and still has bigger hopes to continue to participate in a wide variety of adult competitive sports leagues including softball, basketball, and football. The limitations of his current prosthetic have kept him from larger goals and he applied to Amputee Blade Runners because he wanted to continue to push his limits and expand his dreams. With his new running leg, Greg intends to participate in action/adventure races like the “Tough Mudder” and has long-term aspirations to try for bigger opportunities as a sports prosthesis can continue to open bigger doors for him.
